There are several factors that you should consider before deciding. What are the laws in your state?  Do you need to be certified or is being registered enough?  For me, it was definitely worth it.  In my state, being certified will be required soon.  It seemed silly to pay to get registered and then have to get certified less than a year later. Will your employer give you a raise if you become certified or even reimburse you the cost of the exam if you pass?  Like most, my employer gave me a raise and also reimbursed me the cost of my exam. Are you trying to get into pharmacy school?  I'm applying to pharmacy school soon, and I feel that being certified will look great on my application.
